Bayonet, Pendants & Other Fittings

In this section we have a selection of components that you can use instead of your typical clasps to join your necklaces or bracelets along with some easy pendant mounts for calibrated round or oval stones and some clutches for tie pins, small lapel pins or badges.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What’s the difference between a bayonet and a standard clasp?

A bayonet clasp locks together with a push and twist mechanism and is more likely found on pearl jewellery with neoprene cord instead of chain. These clasps could similarly be used with leather cord to finish off your necklace to leave it with a more continuous and sleek look.

2. Can I solder these fittings onto a chain or pendant?

It is not recommended to solder the bayonet clasp as it uses a spring to keep it locked in place and this is true for the round lock as well. A safety chain is recommended to attach the padlocks from it's jump ring in the middle to your chain. The T-bars or toggle sets can be joined to a chain by other jump rings that would be soldered. We do not recommend soldering directly onto these products especially the toggle set as it is lighweight and hollow.
