Ear Clips

Ear Clips

Aside from our continental earclips (also referred to as lever backs) which are for pierced ears, the rest of the range are options for those without pierced ears. We have the banjo or keyhole clip-on styles in yellow gold or sterling silver. These components make use of their geometry to create tension in the clip to keep them closed against your ear.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are ear clips suitable for gemstone settings?

Yes, most ear clips can accommodate gemstone mounts which would need to be soldered to the base for the banjo or keyhole clips. A drop style stone mount can be attached to the jump ring of the continental earclip. Just ensure the design/piece in front of the base for the banjo or keyhole clip is sufficiently tall so the rear clip can hold against it securely on the ear.

2. Can these be soldered or customised?

Soldering can be done on the Banjo and keyhole clips but it should be done prior to assembly so the heat doesn't remove the tension in the part. It is not recommended on the continental earclip as this may affect the closure mechanism.

3. Are these compatible with beaded or clay-based designs?

Absolutely. Any design or piece soldered to the base simply needs to be big enough for the clip to work effectively on the Banjo or keyhole style. For the continental clips, the design should be made into a drop.
