Bails
Jewellery bails are essential findings for you to hang pendants securely and stylishly from a necklace. Our collection of bails are machine pressed so they are not bulky and work especially well with fine necklaces.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of bails are available?
We have three general types of bails, the first being a basic bail with a tapered profile which is open at the bottom allowing for easy attachment to/through jump rings or eyelets before being soldered closed. The second is the clip in style of bail where the metal is folded around with an overlap allowing you to clip a jump ring in for easy pendant attachment. Lastly we have the rabbit bail named for the shape looking like a set of rabbit ears, suitable for fine pendants and those wishing not to obscure the chain.
2. Can I solder bails to metal?
Yes, the bail can be soldered directly onto the pendant but depending on the soldering method and materials present, extra precaution may be necessary e.g. flame soldering a setting with stones present.
AJS stock a wide range of jewellery bails for your jewellery making requirements. Shop online for free shipping over $200.
