Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are chain ends and finals used for?

They’re used to neatly terminate chain ends and provide a secure attachment point for clasps, jump rings, or extension links.

2. Are they suitable for soldering?

Yes, these components are meant to be soldered onto the chain. Please note that for the heavy final end caps, one half is cut open so that a heavy bolt ring can be fitted. If wanting to solder this part closed, it is recommended to do so with a laser welder to avoid damaging the spring in the bolt ring with heat.

3. What chain sizes do these caps fit?

Our flat finals come in widths from 3mm up to 8mm so choose these based on the width of the chain you are making or working with. The round finals and tube end caps have their sizes based on the internal diameter. Lastly our large final end caps are suited to specific sizes of heavy bolt ring so start with either clasp to determine the appropriate chain size or vice versa.
