Laura

Laura Kerrigan developed a passion for jewellery in 2010 during her studies in Visual Art and Contemporary Craft. This passion led her to a sales role at Australian Jewellers Supplies before transitioning to a full-time apprenticeship position at a mass-manufacturing jewellery house in Thebarton.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge, she completed a Diploma in Gemmology and a Trade Certificate in 2015.

Laura’s deepened connection with gemstones eventually led her to become a theory lecturer and a committee member for the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA), complementing her full-time roles as a manufacturing jeweller, retail assistant, and design consultant for a hand-manufacturing house in Adelaide CBD.

In pursuit of continuous growth, she joined an award-winning high-end jeweller in Burnside and expanded her involvement with the GAA through practical lecturing.

During the pandemic, she seized the opportunity of online learning to earn her Diploma in Diamond Technology, and during maternity leave last year, she completed her Diploma of Applied Gemmology (Valuation).

Laura says, "I still proudly remain a GAA committee member and look forward to teaching the new generation of gemmologists in the future. I bring over a decade of knowledge, professionalism, and discretion to the jewellery trade. I have a broad understanding of many facets of the trade and possess a commitment to continuous learning. I keep up to speed with current industry knowledge and the latest technology to provide accurate appraisals and take into account factors such as market trends, rarity, and condition to determine your jewellery's value.
