Can binding wire be reused for subsequent soldering operations?

I very rarely use binding wire twice as it generally becomes coated in flux or burnt out in the soldering process and definitely looses its tension.

The beauty in twisting up multiple finer strands to create the thickness that you want for the job is that it allows for the tensile strength to dissipate evenly as you heat the work piece.

If you have one strand of heavier gauge wire it can suddenly overheat and expand and it no longer functions.
