The Zeiss D40 (10x) folding pocket loupe, ideal for jewellers and gemmologists, is the standard against which all other loupes are judged. The GIA and CIBJO specify a high quality 10-power aplanatic achromatic loupe for grading the colour, clarity and purity of diamonds, and this 13mm (1/2") diameter folding loupe exceeds every requirement for sharp, dispersion-free viewing right into the peripheral zone.

These magnifiers provide a distortion-free image without chromatic aberration over the entire field of view. The lenses come standard with an anti-reflection coating which both minimizes glare and enhances the clarity of the image seen through the lens. The tough, reinforced polymer shell is much lighter than metal and provides better shock protection in the event it is dropped.
